The University of Glasgow are expanding their campus beginning with the Learning & Teaching Hub on University Avenue and then developing the former Western Infirmary site. The development will create a vibrant learning and research campus that is woven into the urban fabric of Glasgow’s west end, building on the university’s legacy and positioning it as a ‘world-changer’ in international higher education.

Phase One A consists of the construction of a new Learning and Teaching Hub on University Avenue and the development of the former Western Infirmary site. This will create five new academic buildings with associated landscaping, infrastructure and roads.

The second phase will include a new Centre for Chronic Diseases and the creation of an Innovation Quarter. The extension to the university’s Gilmorehill campus will also create a central square linked to Byres Road and provide commercial opportunities in the form of restaurants, bars and a hotel.
